During the pandemic, I explored creative ways to combine food and design, using homemade recipes as both inspiration and medium. Each piece in this collection features hand-prepared food paired with custom typography.
For one piece, I made homemade tortellini, created a stencil, and used my sauce to form the lettering. Another features my great aunt’s homemade bread, topped with Nutella and carefully piped peanut butter typography. In a playful take on my famous chocolate chip cookies, I cut a ‘C’ cookie and digitally added type to complete the phrase. Finally, I baked two homemade pies and styled them alongside squash and apples, using a stencil and cinnamon to create the lettering.
